KIT’s College of Engineering is the first institute in Maharashtra to start BE Environmental Engineering program in 1983. There are very few institutes in India offering such course. The curriculum of Environmental Engineering is updated from time to time with suggestion and guidance of experts from Academic Institutes (like IIT, NIT, WCE), Industrial & Professional field as well as Government bodies like Pollution Control Board.

Environmental Engineering department lays great importance upon the training of student’s creativity and practice ability. Our teaching task toward graduates is always consistent with the Institute’s vision; focusing on the quality of the education. In order to bring up high-level Scientific and Environmental specialists who can meet the requirements of the social & industrial development (which is in need of all-round professionals), the Environment Engineering department applies itself to build an organized system and create a flourishing academic atmosphere. The curriculum is upgraded by giving enough emphasis on the understanding of fundamentals, basic sciences and to the demand of expanding scope of knowledge. Due to the proper structuring of the course and the multiple researching directions, the students have promising career options.
